A commission for the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris on the photographer Gerardo Custance.

“For years, Gerardo Custance dedicated his visual reflection on landscapes.  In this work developed at the Cité Universitaire, where he was himself a resident, he roamed the streets of a strange city born of the desire to host a house from each country.  Not without reason then, Custance gave his peculiar stroll the ancient name that recalls the ambitions and failings of humanity, its thirst for knowledge and its love of power: Babel.  Nevertheless, in his photographs we find the dream of reason without monsters, universal dialogue and encounter without alterity, because we are all other.”
